25 in Rome and some Italian Tatting

Hello there ^^
Its been a while again, I have been quite busy ^^. Last week I turned 25, I celebrated this with my Boyfriend in Rome ^^.Rome is a beautiful city. But I found it extremely chaotic and busy. The older neighborhoods, with the small alleys and old buildings were all really  nice. We enjoyed the Travestere area a lot. But we didn't like the area near the Spanish steps, where all the high end fashion brands are located at all. It was very busy, with very small sidewalks and cars racing very close to the sidewalks. There was so much noise from the cars and the fumes were making me literary sick. I had toget out of there fast, because I did feel faint. So we went to a huge park called Villa Borghese. That was beautiful, nice and peacefull. We stayed there all afternoon. We even fell asleep in the grass ^^ My birthday was on Wednesday. That day we went to the Foro Romano and the Coloseum. It was a great birthday. My Bf gave me some very nice presents ^^. One of them was a butterfly charm for my Pandora bracelet, and a hand drawn birthday card ^^
I will post some pictures from Rome in a later post, I did not yet have the time to go through them. There are a lot XD

We found a small shop where they were selling wool and underwear XD, I still have no idea what kind of shop it was supposed to be, but anyway, we went in there because I wanted to look for some nice crochet cotton. Instead I found some tatting magazines ^^ I picked out two of them:
The patterns are very nice, and not even that hard to understand. I don't speak one word Italian, but with the help of google translate it is very easy to understand ^^I started on a doily pattern, something easy just to see if it would work out with translating.
This is the result for now, far from finished. But I like it ^^

Happy Chinese New Year!!!!!

Like the title says, Happy Chinese New Year! Why? Well I didn't have the time to update my blog earlier and wish everyone a very happy 2012! And today is Chinese new year ^__^

Yesterday I finally did some sewing again. I am just a bit out of inspiration lately. I really have to push myself to sew something. It took me very long yesterday to decide what to sew. First i wanted to make a dress, then a petticoat, but i didn't have the right fabric. So in the end I settled for an apron, because I still did want to make one.So here it is ^^
I really like the strawberry embroidery patterns. I got them from an online seller. Its a very nice set called vintage strawberries ^^

He is an Russian hamster, they are tiny ^^ He is a little demon with his red eyes *__*His name is Chewy / ChewbakaIts soooo hard to take a picture of him because he is very fast. This one was taken with my cellphone. It was a very lucky shot, the best one I got so far -__-;

Wicked, tatting and randomnes

Hello Guys ^___^
Pff I have been busy, I am going to stop saying that I will update here more often, because I can't keep that promise anyway XD, So I will update every now and then.
Last Sunday I went to see the Dutch version of Wicked. I saw it about three years ago in London. I loved it!I was a bit worried about the Dutch version, I was afraid they would make a very bad translation, but I was surprised. It was very good actually.Afterwards, my Boyfriend bought me a t-shirt ^__^ I love it, it's cute, the image is sewn onto the t-shirt which gives it a bit of a 3D look.

This was my outfit. I choose to wear a bit casual and warm Lolita outfit. The show was in Scheveningen, which is pretty much right next to the beach, and it was cold when we left the theater. I have also done some more tatting. I am still learning. I wanted to make something I could "use". I always just make doilies or try-out thingies. So I made a bracelet with beads. The original pattern is for a choker. But I can use a bracelet more often.

I am very happy with the result, though it's not perfect, I think I am getting better ^___^.



Teehee me and my Boyfriend at a gothic and fantasy event during the Halloween weekend  ^__^

We are living together now, and we got our very first Christmas tree XD. I am soooo happy with it, but my christmas ornament collection is not so big yet, so the tree isn't very full. I still think it's cute though. I love the color combination, red and silver, it matches with the curtains ^^
Here is a view from the window of my apartment. They are building a garden in front of our flat. I saw the drawing of it, and I hope the garden will become as beautiful as the drawings. I can't wait for it to be finished ^^

Alright, that was it for now. Ow just one more thing, I want this fridge as a finishing touch (no really) for my house XD

Tatting

Hello All!
Did anyone here ever heard of tatting? I never heard of it until a few months ago. I am looking for techniques to make lace, I already know crochet, and in searching for other techniques, I came across tatting. It's so beautiful, I like it a lot more then crochet.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatting Just take a look.
So, I started collecting some materials and books to start. I found a nice book with very clear instructions on how to start tatting. So I am practicing on it now. I do it everywhere, even on the train to work and during my lunch break ^__^
For tatting you need a tatting shuttle. Most of these shuttles that you can buy in a craft supply store are kind of ugly and boring. I started looking for a really cute one. On Etsy I came across a seller that sold very beautiful painted shuttles.http://www.etsy.com/people/emsyjaneShe has a collection with different designs, all are equally cute. I bought a pink one with roses.I love it so much, It is very easy to work with to. I  have a few other shuttles, but they are a lot bigger, and this one is small and smooth, I keep choosing this one to work with XD.
^__^ In my "learn how to tat" book there is a practicing pattern of a little butterfly. I like the pattern so much that I keep making butterflies. I made a lot already. Here I am working on a chain of butterflies ^__^
A few days ago, I visited Amsterdam, and found a craft shop there. Inside I found some shuttles, and I was really surprised because I couldn't find them in any other craft shop. So I got very enthusiastic about them, and the shop lady told me she had some books on tatting as well. She showed them to me, and I picked two of them. I am so going to visit this shop again to buy some more books.But for now, I only have these two ^^
Hmm well that's about it for now. I think I will continue on my butterfly chain now ^^

Just a small update in a busy time

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
I really really wish I could update my blog more often, but I often don't know what to write, or I am very busy. But every now and then I will update ^^.Today I want to show you all the result of the Butterfly JSK that I was working on a few weeks ago.I wore it at a party last week, it was a lot of fun. My Boyfriend took a picture of me before we went there.

Lol weird pose XD. I am quite pleased with the result of the JSK. I especially like the embroidery on the bodice, but that is because I am a major sucker for embroidery XD.I am wearing it with a bodyline blouse and very very old Baby the stars shine bright socks. 
Well, that was all I had to say for now ^^.My next post will be more elaborate, I will show my newest Lolita purchases. I wish I could do it now, but they are all packed in a suitcase, and I didn't have time to take pictures of them yet.

Ready for summer now ^^

Hello, And welcome to my new readers!!
 I FINALLY bought myself a bikini. I have been looking at a certain bikini for a few years now, but I just found it to expensive. It was a sweet print bikini by Metamorphose that was sold in Mfashion shop (Lolita shop in my country). So I kept looking for something similar to that bikini, but I never found anything. When I visited the Mfashion website about two weeks ago, I saw that the bikini was on sale with 60% off, so I decided that if it was my size, I would buy it. It turned out that it was my size, and Mfashion is selling some clothing that I made, and the shop owner told me she just sold a dress, and she could keep the money for the dress and give me a huge discount. To me, that was great, I paid almost nothing for the bikini, and it doesn't really matter to me if I get the money for the sold dress or not. ( my sewing is just a hobby, I don't make a living out of it at all) So this summer I can finally go swimming ^__^



I also bought this beautiful fabric on Etsy. I want to use it to sew something for myself. I never sew anything for myself, but I love this fabric so much, that I don't want to make something out of it and then sell it. I wont have time to do anything with it for now, but when I am not so busy anymore, I will start on it. Off course I will post the results here ^^



The seller was very friendly, she even included a small personal handwritten note in the package. That is something I always really appreciate.

The big commission for a band called Tornado I have been working on is finally finished. I will post pictures of the outfits later. They are going to Finland now for photo shoots, and they will send me some of the pictures. I can't wait to see them ^^

Summer Darkness and other things

This weekend there was another event in my country, this time in Utrecht. Summer Darkness. It started on Friday and ended on Sunday. I only went there on Sunday to participate in the Lolita fashion show. I could not stay longer either because I was invited to my friends birthday party.
The show was fun, and everybody looked gorgeous! There were so many people watching the show, it was almost scary, but not as scary as an unexpected show I did a few years ago on a very busy festival. That was fun to, but completely unplanned and unprepared. And we had only two models, me and my best friend ^^. So the show this Sunday was a lot easier then that.

You can see my hair in this shot. I always said that I wouldn't buy a wig. But I decided a while ago to buy a half wig after all, because I really like curls, but my own hair is impossible to curl, every time I try it, it dies within an hour. This half wig is great, the quality is awesome, and it saves sooo much time O.o .

Birthdays and crafts

As I already said, I had to go to a birthday party after the fashion show. The gift I bought for her was packed in a very boring white box. So I wanted it to look nicer. Then I remembered that I still had a book on ribbon work and a lot of ribbons lying around. I never tried it before, so I gave it a shot.

On saturday I had another birthday, and I made some other flowers that I couldn't use on the first gift, so I used them on the gift for my other friend.
